A ministry ordained on the step

The first Wednesday of October, it's the Provincial day for permanent deaconate. Right now, the diocese of Gatineau has four permanent deacons (Jean-Paul Tremblay, Jacques Bertrand, Pierre-Paul Périard et René Laprise). We are invited to use this day to pray for the deacons all around Québec, their wives and family.

On the 11th of September 2007, the diocese of Gatineau has start again the welcoming and formation of candidates, after a time of stop and reflection of 27 years. Christian parishes communities were then invited to welcome, support and present candidates.

It's a ministry on the step. On the step... towards persons who went astray of the Church et needs to hear a word of hope. On the step... towards sick people who suffers in their body and in their heart and who needs compassion. On the step... towards families and young couples who have the desire to be listened to and be welcome. On the step... in the day to day run of human life where the Church is called to be a witness.

For more information on this ministry, you may visit the website of the diocese (http://www.diocesegatineau.org/fr/etre-responsable), contact your parish priest or else René Laprise, p.d., diocesan respondant to the permanent deaconate, rene.laprise@videotron.ca, 819 770-9688.
